Pictorial Key to the Tarot By A.E. Waite

The Pictorial Key to the Tarot by A. E. Waite is a classic text associated with the Rider–Waite–Smith tarot tradition. It offers historical context for the deck’s symbolism and Waite’s interpretations of the cards.

Readers who use a Rider–Waite–Smith-style deck may enjoy consulting this work alongside their readings to see how an early influential writer described the imagery and meanings. Because it reflects the language and perspectives of its time, it can be especially rewarding as a historical reference rather than a modern step-by-step workbook.
